Physicist or electrical engineer (Master’s or PhD degree) for our branch office in central Aarhus
We are looking for a physicist or an electrical engineer with a Master’s or PhD degree and with a strong, theoretical background within power electronics, power generation, power distribution, control engineering or the like. You have a well-developed flair for languages and you are keen to start an international patent training to become a European Patent Attorney (EPA).
In a knowledge-based economy, which to a continuously-increasing extent is based on high-tech innovation, protection of know-how is of vital importance to most companies. You will be drafting and prosecuting patents for some of the most innovative and reputable corporations in Denmark, and you will thereby be contributing to the development and protection of the technologies of the future. In the long run, and with your understanding of the technology and the patent training, you will be responsible for advising your clients, as well as representing them before the Danish and European patent authorities. Furthermore, you will take responsibility for co-ordinating global IP strategies.
You will be employed in a fully-paid trainee position, in which – for a period of 3-4 years – you will be introduced to a structured training as part of your employment. In this period, you will receive mentoring from our most experienced experts and participate in the prosecution of a range of different patent cases. Your areas of responsibilities will be extended gradually in line with your patent experience.
Together with our clients’ scientists and development engineers, you will contribute to defining and describing new technologies in the best possible way in order to obtain optimal patent protection. You will also contribute to written and oral proceedings with the patent authorities on behalf of our clients. For foreign patent applications in e.g. USA, China or Japan, prosecution is handled in close cooperation with local associates in the country in question. Furthermore, you will be involved in forming infringement and validity opinions, in cases where our clients wish to avoid conflicts with their competitors, and in cases in which conflicts already exist. Finally, you will have the opportunity to take part in the internal development of Inspicos, including participating in workshops, to develop our marketing strategies and to optimise our internal procedures.
Inspicos is a specialised IP consultancy which acts at the highest European level and which achieved international recognition. Besides our 13 experienced EPAs, our team also includes 2 trainees who have started their training program to be qualified as EPAs. All of our EPAs and trainees hold a degree in natural sciences or technology. Inspicos employs a total of 28 people, of which 6 are based at the office in central Aarhus. We provide direct consultancy services to a number of leading Danish and multinational corporations and SMEs, and we are experiencing stable growth in the demand for our services. The establishment of the European Unified Patent Court will bolster the IP profession further in the years ahead.
We offer you:
- Professional feedback and guidance and the best possible development opportunities in an informal environment characterised by professionalism, responsibility and mutual assistance
- A well-structured educational and training program towards qualifying as an EPA
- Intense coaching prior to the examination
- Great workplace flexibility and an excellent working environment with ambitious colleagues
- Attractive remuneration package with focus on the development opportunities and well-being of individual employees
Our organization is clear and transparent, and we prioritise all employees’ contribution to the positive development of our firm.
