I advise chemical and pharmaceutical companies on all questions of intellectual property rights. I particularly enjoy developing custom-fit IP strategies and assisting my clients with global prosecution. I also work on opposition, appeal, and litigation cases.
Focus areas and educational background
I have extensive scientific experience in organic chemistry, in particular in drug design and drug synthesis. I obtained my doctoral degree at the University of Würzburg in Germany and worked as a postdoctoral scientist at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and at the Academy of Science in Prague before I entered the patent profession in 2016. Therefore, I have personal experience within the fields of chemoenzymatic synthesis, asymmetric synthesis/organocatalysis, natural product synthesis, synthesis of small molecule drugs as well as of peptide and nucleotide therapeutics in the area of infectious, inflammatory, and immune diseases.
I was trained as a German patent attorney candidate at the Federal Patent Court of Germany, the German Patent and Trademark Office, at one of the Patent Litigation Chambers of Landgericht I in Munich and studied Law for Patent Attorneys at the FernUniversität Hagen in Germany.
I am qualified as European Patent Attorney, European Patent Litigator (Representative before the Unified Patent Court), German Patentassessor, and European Trademark and Design Attorney.
