My background and fields of specialization
I provide advice to companies with regard to patents, and patent prosecution, particularly in the fields of energy, aerodynamics, medical devices, nano science, hardware, software and communication systems.
Focus areas and educational background
I finished my PhD in Nano Physics at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen in 2016. As part of my studies, I participated in a six months research exchange program at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. My scientific focus was on implementing new materials in next generation electronics. During my Masters and also during my PhD I was stationed at the National Center for NanoScience and Technology, Beijing. While being part of academia, I found great joy in mentoring students in the fields of chemistry, physics and quantum computers
Technical fields of specialization
I do in particular work with medical devices, sustainable energy systems, nano science, transport systems, design technologies and financial software.
I qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2019, and I continue to focus on drafting and prosecution of patents, including oppositions.
You’ll find my CV on LinkedIn.

”Indeed, you are a facilitator, Jakob. Probably, that is what you are best at”, Bo Wegge Laursen, Entrepreneur, Professor, and Research Center Leader at UCPH.
I have recently participated in a team defending a number of groundbreaking patents relating to fiber composites in large load-bearing structures. In a different context, I have contributed to generating an extensive portfolio of patent applications for a medical device.
On a personal note
In my spare time I enjoy finding tranquility in different ways, particularly together with my family. I am active too, on my own and with friends. I love wakeboarding, skiing, snowboarding, surfboarding, rollerblading, and some times – when I dare – also skateboarding.
