Patent consultancy
As a patent advisor, I primarily advise larger Danish and foreign companies. Specifically, I work with patentability assessments, drafting of patent applications, prosecution of patent applications, opposition proceedings, infringement assessments and freedom-to-operate analyses.
Focus areas and educational background
I have a technical background at Master and Ph.D. level in the field of electrical energy technology, power electronics, control engineering and optics. Furthermore, I have authorisation as European Patent Attorney, and I have completed the course “epi/CEIPI Diploma Course on Patent Litigation in Europe” at the University of Strasbourg, France.
Technical fields of specialization
I advise clients in the following technical fields: acoustic systems – including miniature speaker and microphone systems for e.g. hearing aids, mobile phones, laptops, tablets, etc., optics, power electronics, control engineering and mechanical systems.
Experience
I have worked as a patent advisor since 1997, and I am therefore acquainted with the vast majority of disciplines you meet as a patent advisor. In addition to my work as a patent advisor, I have also had management responsibilities at department manager level during a couple of periods.
In my spare time, I enjoy being on or by the sea site. During the summer, I try every week to become a more complete sailor via regattas, but I also enjoy a quiet cosiness sailing on the bay of Aarhus. In addition to sailing in the homely Danish waters, I indeed appreciate sailing under foreign, exotic climes. When time again allows, I plan to resume my golf career. When I, during the winter season, do not trim sails or swing golf clubs, the sound from vinyl records often fills my living room.
I hear relatively often that people are of the opinion that I have great technical insight within a wide range of technical disciplines, which makes my approach to my clients’ inventions easier. Furthermore, my clients say that I, as a patent advisor, have made significant contributions to establishing valuable patent rights for my clients.
